There is nothing like Spring in Ohio after a long winter. Seeing the Cherry Blossoms begin to bloom, enjoying longer sunny days, and feeling the temperature start to warm up is one of the best things about living in Northeast Ohio. I’m partnering with Ohio. Find It Here. to give you some Spring Activity inspiration to start off one of my absolute favorite seasons.
Things to do in Northeast Ohio in the Spring
Table of Contents
Wade Lagoon
Seeing the magnolias and cherry blossoms that encircle the Wade Lagoon in the Spring is so lovely. The view of the Cleveland Museum of Art from across the water is so serene and stunning all year round, but there is something so special about this area in the spring. University Circle now has a Cherry Blossom Tracker on their website so you can keep up with the latest news on where the blooms are at this season so that you can know the perfect time to visit!
Daffodil Hill
Visiting Daffodil Hill inside Lakeview Cemetery is another beautiful Spring location to visit in Cleveland. There are thousands of cheerful yellow daffodils spread along a large area of the park. It is such a pretty spot for a walk with a friend and makes for a great photo-op!
Lakewood Park
The view of Downtown Cleveland from Lakewood Park is tough to beat, especially in the Spring. Catching a sunset on the Solstice Steps and walking around the paths of the park is a great way to experience Lake Erie in the spring. Who doesn’t love a Lake Erie Sunset?
Cherry Blossoms at Brookside Reservation
The Cherry Blossoms at Brookside Reservation are abso;utely gorgeous. It is a beautiful spot to take a picnic or update family photos. The symmetrical lines of Cherry Blossom trees are a beautiful sight to see.
Cleveland Museum of Natural History
As the temperatures warm up, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History is a wonderful place to visit, especially with children. There is a large outdoor area with rescued animals that come out of hiding after a long winter. The planetarium is also newly updated and reopened and more construction and new exhibits are opening through 2024.
Shop Local Boutiques
If you are heading out of state, or planning fun activities around home then shopping for a few new spring wardrobe staples from a local boutique is a great way to support local business and find something unique and well-made. A few of my favorites in the Cleveland area are Colour Theory Collective (Rocky River), Banyan Tree (Tremont), Room Service (Van Aken District), and Shore Society (Hingetown/Ohio City).
Local Coffee Shop Seasonal Menus
There are so many incredible local coffee shops in the Cleveland area. You don’t have to look far to find a fantastically decorated and cozy shop. Most of them also do incredibly creative and delicious seasonal menus and the results are so picturesque! A few of the ones on my list to try are Rainbow’s End from Ready Set Coffee (7306 Detroit Ave), Cherry Blossom from Floressa Cafe (3328 W 33rd St), Iced Strawberry Matcha from Lekko Coffee (2529 Detroit Ave), and the Patty-Stachio Latte from Brewella’s (16806 Madison Ave). I can’t get enough of the themed menus!
Getaways To Take in Ohio This Spring
Geneva Wine Country
One of my favorite annual activities in Northeast Ohio is to take a girls’ trip to Geneva Wine Country in the Spring. It’s a lovely time to visit Geneva before it gets busy in the summer while still being pretty and having great weather. Last year we went over Memorial Day Weekend and had the most fun time exploring the area and trying new (to us) wineries! I definitely recommend it and if you need recommendations, I have an in-depth Geneve 3-day itinerary on my blog as well.

Shores & Islands
As the weather clears up, Lake Erie Shores and Islands can be a great option for a getaway in Ohio. It is not a far trip from Cleveland and there are quite a few places to explore. We loved our time on Kelleys Island and are looking forward to going back to visit again this year.

Amish Country
Another great little getaway to take in the Spring is to Ohio’s Amish Country. There is some amazing food, hiking, and things to do in the area just a short drive from Cleveland and Columbus. We loved our getaway there a while back when we stayed at Dwell Box Treehouse Village.
