I’m back again to bring you another Ohio themed post in partnership with Ohio. Find It Here. This time, I took inspiration from the Ohio. Find It Here. Foodie Road Trip! There are some incredible places to eat in Ohio for all you foodie’s out there, and Ohio. Find It Here. has curated a list of impeccable local restaurants all over the state. Today, I’ll be sharing a few of the stops on their list in hopes that you will be inspired to try something new and support local businesses. One of the stops on the Ohio. Find It Here. Foodie road trip is The Van Aken District & Market Hall.
Nestled peacefully into the stunning landscape of Ohio’s Amish Country is the Dwell Box Treehouse Village. When my husband and I were researching a unique place to stay in Ohio, we found these neat, modern accommodations on Airbnb. There are so many trendy AirBnbs now and we were super excited to get away for a night and try one out. We ended up staying at “The Shack” in Dundee, Ohio. It was the perfect size for the two of us to stay comfortably and it was very cozy! A peaceful retreat to Dwell Box Treehouse Village in Ohio was just what we needed.
One thing that I love about living in Ohio is being close to Lake Erie. I definitely took living in such proximity to one of the beautiful Great Lakes for granted growing up. Now that I am an adult, I think it would be really difficult for me to live anywhere that isn’t close to the beach – whether that be a lake or ocean. It is a part of me now and I just cannot stay away!
This year has been a crazy one to be sure. As a travel blogger who can’t really travel right now, it has been difficult to know what to share with you all. Luckily, I have found a lot of inspiration right in my own backyard. I have always loved living in Ohio, but now I am even more thankful to call this beautiful state my home. Ohio. Find It Here. has curated 10 lovely road trips for all types of interests and I am partnering with them again on another post to share some hometown travel inspiration with you today! In honor of Women’s Equality Day, I decided to stop and explore the International Women’s Air and Space Museum in Cleveland which happens to be one of the stops on the Women in History Road Trip.
I recently arrived home from a romantic staycation at Gervasi Vineyard in North Canton, Ohio. It was the perfect, scenic destination for a getaway that was both close to home and also made us feel like we were on vacation. It was very important for me to find accommodations that would be taking state mandates and guidelines very seriously. We also wanted to stay somewhere with outdoor spaces to explore and Gervasi was a perfect choice!
I’ve partnered with Ohio. Find it Here. to share this amazing list of Black owned businesses in Cleveland, Ohio. If you have been following my blog for a while, you will know that I am always talking about supporting local businesses (especially in these crazy Coronavirus times) but today I want to specifically call attention to some of the wonderful Black owned businesses in Cleveland that we are blessed to have in Northeast Ohio. Many of these are Black female-owned businesses as well, and you know I love a girls supporting girls moment over here!
During this bizarre time in history that we are living through, it can be hard to remember what day it is, let alone get dressed up to work from home. So many of us are wearing cozy quarantine loungewear almost every day now! People and businesses are struggling to get by. We are all worried about the health of our loved ones. We are all just trying to take this day by day as it comes. Something that has been helping me get through this time is seeing how my community is coming together to support one another despite the physical distance. People are buying gift cards and ordering takeout from local restaurants and shopping online at their favorite local shops.
Getaway has cozy tiny house-like cabins nestled away into nature just a short drive outside of 12 major cities (and counting!). Since we are Cleveland natives, we visited Getaway Beaver Creek outpost, which is conveniently located between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. The Getaway motto is, “Disconnect to reconnect…Unplug from work, wifi, and routines”. They purposely don’t have wifi and it’s very refreshing to unplug. There are even cell phone lock boxes if you are brave enough to use them!
